How important of body language?

When we connect with a person, we have to make it clear to each other
how the content of a spoken message needs to be interpreted.
How we do this says something about the relationship we have with the other person,
or think we have anyway. Often words are inadequate for this purpose.
For instance we do not tell each other that easily how we feel about each other,
or how the words of a message need to be interpreted.
To make the meaning of our words clear we use body language.

I extremely say yes, the body language is very important for people. Sometime if we want the other person clear what we are taking about you must use some part of your body to show them. Our non verbal cues serving us as a base for a lot of information we don't actually tell others in words. Think about it, the last time you felt bad about something, you didn't really had to tell your family or friends that you feel that way. They knew it immediately and offered their help and support.
We already have a very strong non verbal system to communicate with others, but sometimes we miss the signals or interpret them incorrectly, understanding body language may help avoid such situations.

Also, people are more affect by what they see more than what they hear and therefore, would prove to be a better method of understanding.

Body language is a part of communication that very few actually study yet it makes up most of what we use to communicate and is generally much more accurate a judge of meaning than are the words we use. I’m going to share some reasons why body language is so important and then give you a very short quiz to take to see how well you understand its meaning. Some of the things we say with our bodies can help us reinforce why we are saying it. Simply saying “I don’t know” has got nothing on adding the following gestures. We can turn our hands over face up in front of us as we raise our eyebrows and invert our smile while we stick our bottom lip slightly out and look to the side. Now we’ve also made someone laugh and perhaps taken a bit of the pressure off ourselves or the other person who was a bit nervous about not knowing whatever it was we didn’t know.
