How to take care of your book?

- Once you buy a new book or pick it out of your library, make sure you hold it backwards, from the side you open the book and not from the side you hold while reading.

- Open your book gently and avoid opening it more than 100 geometrical degrees.

- Don't use a highlighter or any kind or pens for bookmarking. Instead of that, use a simple bookmark. You don't need to buy a fancy bookmark, an old peace of cartoon or anything thin clean and solid helps.

1. Keep the spine of the book healthy.
2. Take the dust jacket off of hardcover books and keep it in a safe place
to prevent it from getting stained.
3. Keep your books in a stable temperature.
4. Store your books in an upright position with plenty of shelf room but not too close together.
5. Always use a bookmark so you do not have to turn down pages to save your place while reading.
6. Gently repair any torn pages before they become worse.

Paper used to be so expensive that, even with the invention of the printing press, only the wealthy could afford it. Then a new type of paper processing was invented that used acid to make it much less expensive. We should be thankful for that because, without it, book lovers would have little to love. But, that same process is also the cause of the books earlier demise. The acid, which was used to break down the wood into cellulose pulp, continues to break down the paper long after being printed into books. Keeping them dry is your best bet. I want to have airtight book cases built for mine. It would also be nice to have the time to scan them all into computer memory as PDF files.
There is hope though. More and more books are being printed on acid free paper. Sometimes you have to look for that. But the new acid free process is getting less expensive and more common.

The ways to take care of my book is to make the cover page.
I think it makes your book more stronger and permanent.
Moreover, in each page of the book, you should fold it
because it makes the papers broken.
