| Winter gives me a chance to break out my favorite coat, curl up by the fire or sled all day. It also brings on dry-skin season. The frigid winds make my skin more brittle and coarse, an unfortunate side effect of winter. There are plenty of ways to cure my dry-skin woes. Using oil-based ointments and taking shorter showers will help keep my skin moist this winter. Besides, hot water is something one must avoid in winter. As comfortable and relaxing as it may sound, a hot water bath must be avoided. Luke warm water will not take away the moisture from my skin. Use mild soaps, containing natural ingredients, such as olive oil and cocoa butter, to moisturize my skin throughout my shower. Mild soaps contain less aggressive cleaning agents. Install a humidifier. Apply moisturizing cream or ointment directly after stepping out of the shower to seal in moisture immediately. Use sunscreen. | For me, I will apply a moisturizing lip balm when I am doing the rest of your skin care, make it part of my routine. As well as this, before I go outside apply some Vaseline/petroleum jelly to your lips as this creates a protective barrier between the cold air and my lips, locking in moisture. And eating a healthy diet full of nutrients and vitamins is the best way to keep my hair and skin from looking and feeling healthy. It's also important to drink enough water to keep my skin and hair hydrated from within. Eating an unbalanced diet will leave my body lacking in the nutrition needed for keeping your skin and hair looking great.

| For me, I will choose a good, oil-based moisturizer to keep the skin moisturized and soft. Pay special attention to the exposed parts (and the most affected areas) like your hands, nails, feet and lips. Keep them well moisturized at all times. Use a lip balm to keep your lips soft and supple. Lip balm with SPF works better. Even those who have oily skin must use light moisturizing lotions after cleansing to keep the skin soft.
