why do people smoke?

I think cus of Stress and relaxation.
Many people claim that smoking helps them to cope with stress.
But in fact, nicotine is a stimulant and won’t help you to relax.
Smokers probably think a cigarette makes them feel better because
when they aren’t smoking they suffer from nicotine withdrawal.

Adults smoke for reasons. They may have a lot of stress and pressures because of
economic and personal problems. They may be unemployed or working but not making
enough money to take care of themselves and their families. They may be homeless,
or they may be dealing with alcohol or cocaine/heroin addictions. Some may be in bad
marriages or relationships in which there is physical and/or verbal abuse. All these
people may smoke to feel relaxed or to give them energy while going through
a hard time.

I think they are very stress and they think that this is a good way
to reduce their stress. In addition, smoking is a fashion.
The youth like to smoke because they think it is cool.
For me, I really hate smoking, I do not accept people around me do smoke.
Especially, people in my family.
