Brush your teeth as much as possible. The standard rule for brushing your teeth says that you should do it at least twice a day. While this is cognizant of the pressures of the working world where it may be only be possible to brush your teeth after breakfast and dinner, it is best to brush your teeth after every meal. Bring a toothbrush to your place of employment, and brush your teeth after lunch. For an extra fresh and cleaner smile, brush your teeth when you wake up in the morning, too. Use a whitening toothpaste. The active "whitening" ingredients in toothpaste are most commonly abrasives that encourage friction and actually scrub off plaque and stains from your teeth. While these toothpastes don't actually whiten your teeth, per say, they will remove elements that lead to dark and stained teeth. Cut the coffee and cigarettes. It's common knowledge that both coffee and cigarettes continually stain your teeth. The dark caffeine found in coffee along with the smoke in cigarettes will stain your teeth a certain tint of yellow and definitely hinder your efforts to obtain a cleaner, whiter smile.
